Working with To Do

Click on the Note&Do icon to open the application.

Note&Do works for Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. The tasks you create in the To Do list are application-specific, i.e. the tasks you create in Excel will not be shared in Word and vice versa.

Create new tasks

You can easily create a new task on the To Do tab using one of the following 5 ways:

  • Double-click on the first empty line on the To Do tab, you will see a new task in the edit mode. Type in the information you want and press Enter on your keyboard. Double-click on the pane to create a task
  • Click on the Add task button at the bottom of the pane. Click on the Add task button
    Note. When you use the Add task button, the task will be created at the end of the list.
  • Right-click on the pane and select the option to Add a new task from the menu. Right-click and choose to add a new task You will see the task in the edit mode. Type in the necessary data and press Enter to finish up.
    Note. The task will be inserted in the place where you right-clicked on the pane.
  • Open the To Do pane and press the Ctrl+N shortcut on your keyboard.
  • If you have some text in your file that you want to use as a task, just highlight and drag-and-drop it to the To Do list. If you don't have any tasks there yet, drag it to the first empty line. You'll see a new task with the text you dragged. Drag text for the new task
    Tip. If you want to bring the data from the task into your MS Office file, just drag and drop it where you need in the document

Edit a task

You can change the task using one of these options:

  • Double-click on the task text and make the necessary corrections. Press Enter to finish up. Double-click on the task and make the necessary changes
  • Right-click on the task and select the Edit option in the context menu. Edit the contents and click the Enter key on your keyboard. Right-click on the task and edit its contents
  • If you use arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate in the To Do list, you can select the task and press Enter to edit it.
Tip. You can make the task text stand out by making it bold: right-click on the task and select the Bold Text option from the menu, or select it and press Ctrl+B on your keyboard.

Change task category

To quickly distinguish certain tasks on the pane you can categorize them by color:

  1. Right-click on the task and select the Category option in the context menu. Assign color category to the task
  2. You will see a list of colors to choose from. Pick the color you want to mark the selected task. Pick the color you want and the task will take it You will see category color on the right edge of the tasks.

Move tasks

Select the task you want to move in the list, left-click and hold and then drag to the position you need. You will see a dark grey line to help you see where the task is going to be inserted.

Mark task as complete

You can use one of the ways below to complete a task. The text of the completed task will be crossed out and greyed.

  • Select the task you completed and put the check mark in the check box next to it. Check the task you completed
  • Right-click on the task and select the Complete option. Right-click on the task and choose to complete it
    Tip. You can complete several tasks at once. Just hold the Ctrl key while selecting the tasks, right-click on one of them and choose to complete them.

  • Select the task(s) you want to complete and press the Space key.

Hide completed tasks

If you have completed tasks that you don't want to delete to keep track of the things you've done, you can hide them so that they don't impede with the tasks you haven't completed yet.

Just select the Hide Completed Tasks check box at the bottom of the pane.

The number in brackets shows the number of completed tasks you have. If you complete tasks with this option enabled, this number will be updated

Mark task as incomplete

If you want to work on a completed task, you can re-enable it by marking it as incomplete one of these ways:

  • Select the completed task and remove the check mark in the check box next to it. Uncheck the task to reactivate it
  • Right-click on the task and select the Mark as Incomplete option. Right-click on the task and choose to mark it as incomplete
    Tip. You can re-activate several tasks at once. Just hold the Ctrl key while selecting the tasks, right-click on one of them and choose to mark them as incomplete.

  • Select the task(s) you want to mark as incomplete and press the Space key.

Delete tasks

You can use one of the following ways to delete tasks:

  1. Select the task(s) in the list and press the Delete key.
  2. Right-click on the selected task(s) and select the Delete option in the context menu. Remove a task by right-clicking on it and selecting the Delete option
