Transpose by Key Columns is an add-in for Excel that performs two powerful actions at once: transposes columns to rows and combines cell values. To define how this process is going to happen, you pick one or more key columns with duplicates, columns to be transposed and columns with values to be merged. Beware, if you're working with accounting documents, invoices, reports, etc., chances are high that you may get addicted to the tool ;)

Choose one or more key columns
You can transpose and merge data by duplicates in one or more key columns.
Merge data in selected columns
Pick columns with values to combine while transposing data.
Separate merged values by the chosen delimiter
You can divide combined values by semicolon, comma, period, space, line break, or any custom delimiter.
Transpose columns to rows
Select columns that you want to turn into rows.
Decide if to consider empty cells as duplicates
Select the Skip empty cells option to avoid considering empty cells as duplicates.
Merge values with aggregate functions
Use aggregate functions with the merged values: AVERAGE, COUNT, COUNTA, MAX, MIN, etc.

How to transpose data in Excel with Ultimate Suite?
Ultimate Suite includes two tools for data transposing. With the help of Transpose Range, you can simply turn columns into rows or rows into columns. This option works with all columns and rows of the selected table and does not merge anything.
The Transpose by Key Columns tool is more sophisticated. It transposes only selected columns according to repeated values in the key columns. Also, it can merge values in the chosen columns.
Сan I transpose columns and merge data in Excel table?
Yes, this is exactly what Transpose by Key Columns does ;) Setup Ultimate Suite for Excel, find the Ablebits Tools tab, the Transform group, and click on the Transpose by Key Columns icon. Then simply do what the wizard asks you to. If you get confused or have any questions, please consult the How to Transpose by Key Columns documentation page.
Can I only transpose and not merge anything?
Sure. For this just skip Step 4 and simply click the Finish button.
Is it possible to only merge data and not transpose it?
Yes :) Simply do not select any columns on Step 3. In fact, the tool offers two actions and it is up to you to choose: only transpose, only merge, or do both.
Are empty cells considered duplicates?
It depends. On Step 2 and Step 4 there are Skip empty cells checkboxes. If you tick them, empty cells won’t be recognized as repeated values, if you leave the boxes unchecked, they will be identified by the add-in as duplicates.
