Brief description
Outlook Auto BCC / CC - is an advanced email add-in for Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002 (XP), 2003, and 2007 that makes a BCC (blind carbon copy) and/or a CC (carbon copy) automatically, every time you send mail. You can use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) option when forwarding emails to different people, replying to an e-mail, or creating a new message. Outlook Auto BCC / CC will help you automate sending CC / BCC messages based on simple rules.
The Outlook Auto BCC features list:
- Integrated directly into Outlook's Outbox.
- Makes Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) or/and Carbon Copy (CC) automatically.
- Supports rules based on the Account Name, Subject, Attached file names and To, CC fields.
- Supports multiple recipients.
- Excludes duplicates from the To, CC and BCC fields.
How to install / uninstall Outlook Auto BCC
To install the program:
- Close Microsoft Outlook.
- Run outlook-auto-bcc.exe and follow instructions.
- Restart Outlook and go to Outlook menu Tools/Options and choose Auto BCC tab to see the tool running.
To uninstall the program:
- Close Microsoft Outlook.
- Open Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.
- Click Change or Remove Programs, and then click Outlook Auto BCC.
- Click Change/Remove to remove the program.
How to create a new Auto BCC rule
- Open the Auto BCC window via Outlook menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook
- Click the "New rule" button in the top left corner of the toolbar, or right click on the rules list area and choose the "New rule" item of the popup menu.
- In the "Create a new rule" dialog box select the rule settings you need:

Create an Auto CC / BCC rule for all outgoing messages:
- Select the "Apply the rule for all outgoing e-mail messages in all profiles" option.
- Click on the "Select recipients" button to make up a BCC and / or CC recipients list.
- To add a BCC recipient(s), select the recipient name(s) from the list and click the "BCC" button. If your address book is empty, you can enter your contacts directly into the BCC field.
- To add a CC recipient(s), select the recipient name(s) from the list and click the "CC" button. If your address book is empty, you can enter your contacts directly into the CC field.
- Click the OK button.
Create an Auto CC / BCC rule for selected messages:
- Check the "Apply the rule only if the message meets certain conditions" checkbox.
- On the "Conditions" tab, select one, several or all avalable conditions. The rule will be applied only if the message meets all of the selected conditions.
- If Account is - select the profile(s) and e-mail account(s) from the list.
- If attachment name contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the attachment name.
- If subject contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the subject.
- If "To:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address, e.g. @domain.com.
- If "Cc:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address.
You can use several keyphrases in one rule for the following conditions:
"If attachment name contains", "If subject contains", "If To address contains", "If Cc: address contains".
- On the "Exceptions tab select one, several or all avalable exceptions. Please note, this tab is optonal, there may or may not be exceptions for the rule. The rule will not be applied if the message meets at least one of the selected exceptions.
- If Account is - select the profile(s) and e-mail account(s) from the drop down list
- If attachment name contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the attachment name
- If subject contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the subject
- If "To:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address, e.g @domail.com.
- If "Cc:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address.
How to test your rules
Create a test message, click the Send button, and open the message either from the Outbox folder or the Sent Items folder. If any of your Auto BCC for Outlook rules was applied, you will see the appropriate e-mail address(es) in the BCC and /or CC fields.
If you have the "Send immediately" option enabled, temporarily disable it via "Outlook menu -> Tools -> Options -> Mail Setup".
All enabled rules are applied top-down for all outgoing messages. All messages are checked for duplicates and all duplicated addresses are cut out.
How to edit the rule:
- Go to Outlook menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook.
- Select the rule you need from the "Rules list.
- Click the "Change rule" button on the top toolbar or right click on the rule and choose the "Edit" item of the popup menu.

How to disable / enable the rule:
- Go to Outlook menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook.
- Select the rule you need from the "Rules list.
- Uncheck (check) the checkbox on the left of the rule or right click on the rule and choose the "Disable rule" (Enable rule") item of the popup menu.
How to delete the rule:
- Go to Outlook menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook.
- Select the rule you need from the "Rules list.
- Click the "Delete" button on the top toolbar or right click on the rule and choose the "Delete" item of the popup menu.
How to hide or lock Auto BCC
Auto BCC for Outlook administration tool is a free utility to protect Auto BCC rules by password from changing or to remove the Auto BCC for Outlook menu item from the Outlook menu (accordingly the users can not see/change the rules set by you).
Go to Start -> All Programs -> Add-in Express -> Auto BCC for Microsoft Outlook -> Administration tool
The Enter password dialog box will open. The default password is password.
Click on the OK button and you will see the Auto BCC for Outlook Administration tool settings dialog box:
- Uncheck the "Display in Outlook" checkbox to remove the Auto BCC for Outlook menu item.
- Check the "Lock in Outlook" checkbox to block Auto BCC rules from changing.
