Need to merge Excel cells?
If you want to merge cells in Excel, check out Merge Cells Wizard. With this add-in you can combine multiple cells, join entire rows, columns or a range of cells keeping their values.
Just imagine this: you have two or more Microsoft Excel worksheets containing information about your company's products. For example, you have 2 Microsoft Excel tables - "Orders" and "Prices" and they both have a column with the "Product ID". You want to update prices and add product descriptions from the Second table (let's call it a lookup table) to your Main table (master table).
If you try to do this painstaking and wearisome work manually, it will take you hours, if not days! You will have to go through each row in the master table to identify the matching row in the second spreadsheet. After that you will spend even more time on updating the selected rows and adding a new column from the lookup table to the main list.
Does all this sound too complicated and time consuming? Probably yes, even if you decide to employ the standard Microsoft Excel Match, Lookup, or Vlookup. But definitely not, if you use our Merge Tables Wizard for Microsoft Excel.
This handy add-in quickly merges two Excel worksheets into one by copying matching data from the specified columns. The two tables can be located in the same Microsoft Excel file or in two different files. The intuitive and smart wizard guides you through the merge process. Rows from two Excel spreadsheets with different number of columns will be matched perfectly without copying and pasting!
To ensure that you get exactly the results you need, the Merge Tables Wizard provides a number of options. You can select which columns you want to update or add to your Master Table by choosing one of the actions:
Now, let's look at the resulting table from our example, see the screenshot above. Prices were updated by assigning the Update values action to the "Prices" column and the "Product Description" column was added by choosing Add to the end for this column.
Additional options provided by the Merge Tables Wizard let you adjust the merge results depending on your particular data and needs.
