The Incorrect License Key message

Trying to activate your Ultimate Suite for Excel license, you can get a message saying that you've entered the wrong license key. The problem comes up when:

  • The key doesn't match the edition you've installed.
  • The key doesn't match the version you've installed.
  • The license key itself is incorrect.

These are the steps to take:

Check what version and edition of Ultimate Suite you've installed

  1. Open any Excel file.
  2. Click the Help button on the Ablebits Data tab.
  3. Pick the About option:
    Click About.
  4. In the About window, you'll see the edition and version installed:
Check the installed edition and version.

Compare these details to the version and edition you purchased

On finding out what edition and version of Ultimate Suite you have on your machine, open the email message that contains your license key and check what edition and version of the add-in are associated with your order. Please compare those details.

If the edition or version differs, do the following:

  1. Uninstall Ultimate Suite.
  2. Download the right edition/version of the add-in from the Latest versions or Archived versions page.
  3. Install and activate Ultimate Suite anew.

Double-check that the license key is entered correctly

Make sure that you're copying and pasting the whole of the license key and there are no leading or trailing spaces.

If you still can't activate your license, please contact us.

Hi there,

I had the same issues as above and e-mailed support@ablebits.com, but no reply. Would you be able to reply to my concern? It look as though I have the same challenge as Brigid above. Many thanks.

I am looking into getting the License Key. I had the 2018 version of Ablebits on my device but then lost it. The key that I had then does not work now obviously. How do I obtain a new License key? I installed the 2018 version again.

I have the same issue as the above poster, and have not received a reply to any of the emails I have sent support. There is nothing in junk. Please respond to my email as soon as possible.

Hello Brigid,

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry, but it looks like our replies from support@ablebits.com don't reach you for some reason.

I've just tried to respond to your request from my personal email. Please respond back if you've received it. Otherwise, please try to contact us using an alternative email.

My sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

My device was recently replaced by our technology team after a catastrophic failure with my other device that had ablebits for excel installed. Since then, I've emailed support and requested my license key through your lookup system and I've received no response. Please provide me with the means to use the software our company has purchased.

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for your comment. My colleague replied to your original request on April 5th, last Friday (April 15th) she resent you the license details once again. If for some reason our emails didn't reach you, please check if they haven't been blocked by your Spam filter. I have also just resent the key to your email address.

Feel free to contact us at support@ablebits.com if any further assistance is needed.
