The Incorrect License Key message

What to do if you see it?

Trying to activate your Ultimate Suite for Excel license, you may see one of the Incorrect license key messages. They fall into three categories:

  • The key does not match the edition you have installed.
  • The key does not match the version you have installed.
  • The license key you have entered is incorrect.

If you see the first or the second message, you need to detect the edition or version of Ultimate Suite you have installed and compare it to the edition or version you ordered. And then download and install the correct edition/version. Please perform the following steps:

If you see the third message, make sure you insert the license key entirely and do not enter any leading or trailing spaces.

Find the version and edition you have installed

To find out the Ultimate Suite version and edition installed on your computer, please open any Excel file, go to the Ablebits Data tab, and click the Help button.

In the drop-down list, pick the About... option:
Click About.
In the About window, you will see the license name and key:

  • You have the Personal Edition of Ultimate Suite, if this window looks like this:
    Ultimate Suite Personal Edition.
    The version of the product are the five digits after the word Version.
  • You have installed the Business Edition of Ultimate Suite, if you see this window:
    Ultimate Suite Business Edition.
    The version of the product are the five digits after the word Version.
  • If you have the Terminal Server Edition, you will see its name in the window:
    Ultimate Suite Terminal Server Edition.
    The version of the product are the five digits after the word Version.

    Please remember or write down the edition and the version.

Compare them to the version and edition you ordered

When you have detected the edition and the version of the product you have on your machine, open the email that contains the license key and find the edition and version of the add-in you have ordered. Please compare them.

Look, I'm having an issue with my license. It says:

"Sorry, this key does not match the edition you have installed. Please check your edition as explained in the instruction that will open in a moment."

Well, I downloaded it from the link you had on your email. I need a fix.

I purchased a edition of ablebits and when I went to load it, it said I have the wrong edition.
Why was it not noted to check the edition prior to the purchase.
I have asked for a refund and I am purchasing the correct edition now.
the payment processing company says that you may or may not refund the original purchase.
If you do it takes a week to process.
I like your product but the process to purchase is bad to the point of deceptiveness. Then to hear you might or might not refund the money.
