Ablebits tabs disappeared in Excel

How to bring them back

Suppose you have been using Ultimate Suite for a while, and one day you start Excel and can't see any Ablebits tabs in the ribbon. Most often the problem is caused by Office or Windows updates that were not properly tested for compatibility issues.

Here are the instructions on how to bring Ablebits back to the Excel ribbon.

Check the Disabled Items

  1. Click the Microsoft Office button in Excel 2007 or the File tab in Excel 2010-2019.
  2. Go to Excel Options -> Add-ins:
    View the add-ins.
  3. Click the Manage drop-down list, select Disabled Items, and click Go:
    Disabled items.
  4. If the add-in is in the list, select it and click the Enable button.
  5. Restart Excel.

If there is no Ablebits in Disabled Items

If there is no Ablebits in Disabled Items or you have enabled it but nothing happened, take the followign steps:

  1. Update your Office.
  2. Uninstall your Ultimate Suite.
  3. Check the COM Add-ins dialog box:
    COM Add-ins.
And if you can see Ablebits in the list, remove it by clicking the Remove button:
    Remove Ablebits from COM Add-ins.
  4. Go to the Download page and get the latest version of the Ultimate Suite edition you use. Install it on your machine.
