Auto BCC / CC is a plug-in for Outlook Express and Windows Mail that automates sending BCC (blind carbon copies) and CC (carbon copies). The work of the Auto BCC / CC plug-in is based on a flexible system of rules.

How to install / uninstall Auto BCC for Outlook Express and Windows Mail
To install the program:
- Close Outlook Express.
- Run outlook-auto-bcc.exe and follow instructions.
- Restart Outlook Express and go to Outlook Express menu Tools/Options and choose Auto BCC tab to see the tool running.
To uninstall the program:
- Close Outlook Express.
- Open Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.
- Click Change or Remove Programs, and then click Auto BCC/CC for Outlook Express and Windows Mail.
- Click Change/Remove to remove the program.
How to create a new Auto BCC rule
- Open the Auto BCC window via Outlook Express menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook Express
- Click the "New rule" button in the top left corner of the toolbar or right click on the Rules list area and choose the "New rule" item of the pop-up menu.
- In the "Create a new rule" dialog box select the rule settings you need:

Create an Auto CC / BCC rule for all outgoing messages:
- Select the "Apply the rule for all outgoing e-mail messages in all profiles" option.
- Click on the "Select recipients" button to make up a BCC and / or CC recipients list.
- To add a BCC recipient(s), select the recipient name(s) from the list and click the "BCC" button. If your address book is empty, you can enter your contacts directly into the BCC field.
- To add a CC recipient(s), select the recipient name(s) from the list and click the "CC" button. If your address book is empty, you can enter your contacts directly into the CC field.
- Click the OK button.
Create an Auto CC / BCC rule for selected messages:
- Check the "Apply the rule only if the message meets certain conditions" check box.
- On the "Conditions" tab select one, several or all available conditions. The rule will be applied only if the message meets all of the selected conditions.
- If Account is - select the profile(s) and e-mail account(s) from the list.
- If attachment name contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the attachment name.
- If subject contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the subject.
- If "To:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address, e.g. @domain.com.
- If "Cc:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address.
You can use several key phrases in one rule for the following conditions:
"If attachment name contains", "If subject contains", "If To address contains", "If Cc: address contains".
- On the "Exceptions" tab select one, several or all available exceptions. Please note that this tab is optional, there may or may not be exceptions to the rule. The rule will not be applied if the message meets at least one of the selected exceptions.
- If Account is - select the profile(s) and e-mail account(s) from the drop-down list
- If attachment name contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the attachment name
- If subject contains - enter a word or phrase that is part of the subject
- If "To:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address, e.g. @domain.com.
- If "Cc:" address contains - enter e-mail address(es) or a part of the address.
How to test your rules
Create a new message, drag it to Outbox and open it. If the message was selected by one of the Auto BCC for Outlook Express rules, you will see changes in the BCC and CC fields.
If you have the "Send immediately" option enabled you should temporarily disable it via "Outlook Express menu -> Tools -> Options -> Mail Setup".
All enabled rules are applied top-down for all outgoing messages. All messages are checked for duplicates and all duplicated addresses are cut down.
How to edit the rule:
- Go to Outlook Express menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook Express.
- Select the rule you need from the "Rules list".
- Click the "Change rule" button on the top of the toolbar or right click on the rule and choose the "Edit" item of the popup menu.
- Edit the existing rule dialog will open:
How to disable / enable the rule:
- Go to Outlook Express menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook Express.
- Select the rule you need from the "Rules list".
- Uncheck (check) the check box on the left of the rule or right click on the rule and choose the "Disable rule" (Enable rule") item of the popup menu.
How to delete the rule:
- Go to Outlook Express menu -> tools -> Auto BCC for Outlook Express.
- Select the rule you need from the "Rules list".
- Click the "Delete" button on the top of the toolbar or right click on the rule and choose the "Delete" item of the popup menu.
How to hide or lock Auto BCC
Auto BCC for Outlook Express and Windows Mail administration tool is a free utility to protect Auto BCC rules by password from changing or to remove the Auto BCC for Outlook Express menu item from the Outlook menu (accordingly the users can not see/change the rules set by you).
Go to Start -> All Programs -> Add-in Express -> Auto BCC for Outlook Express and Windows Mail -> Administration tool
The Enter password dialog box will open. The default password is password.
Click on the OK button and you will see the Auto BCC for Outlook Express Administration tool settings dialog box:
- Uncheck the "Display in Outlook Express" checkbox to remove the Auto BCC for Outlook Express menu item.
- Check the "Lock in Outlook" checkbox to block Auto BCC rules from changing.
