I was born Maria Sklodowska in Warsaw on November 7, 1867 and received a general education and some scientific training from my father. I went to Paris to continue my studies at the Sorbonne and became Head of the Physics Laboratory, gained a Doctor of Science degree in 1903, and eventually became a Professor of General Physics in the Faculty of Sciences, the first time a woman had held this position.
My research focused on developing methods for the separation of radium from radioactive residues and I discovered polonium. No wait! That's not my bio. That is Madame Marie Curie's. I think she is awesome and 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of her second Nobel Prize award!
But about me: I have a huge crush on AbleBits add-ins, I'm a PhD science nerd, love to knit, read, travel, and learn new things about MS Office & Excel.
